| Register of Applications and Permissions Madison Co., Mississippi Territory Thomas Freeman was acting as Registrar to take applications from squatters desiring permission to remain on the land they occupied in Madison county until land sales were held in August 1809 in Nashville. The squatter made application, paid a small fee of six shillings, and Freeman registered them. | |
